These scissors are skillfully carved out of bone with beautiful fretwork decoration on their handles. The scissors are 5 5/8″ long,1 3/4″ wide. They open and close firmly and they cut paper. That’s what they are meant for according to what I have been told; these are not sewing scissors. But I have listed these scissors in this category because I have a listing of so many sewing items in bone and ivory. The scissors are European; they were made at the end of the nineteenth century. The condition of the bone is excellent: t is no single damage. The bone is very clean and it is white and glossy as if it were ivory. T is a nice patina as you can see in the pictures. These scissors would make a very decorative addition to a collection!
